Newborns
Unfortunately at this time, we are unable to see our newborns in the hospital due to the large number of hospitals in which our future patients are born. While still in the hospital, our patients are seen by a neonatologist (infant specialist) working for Newborn Care Associates which is part of Cincinnati Children’s. They will inform us of any problems that they encounter. If you have any concerns while at the birth hospital, you can call our office and one of our physicians can consult via the phone.
We prefer to see our newborns in the office approximately 2 days after hospital discharge or approximately one week of life if there has been a home health nurse visit shortly after hospital discharge. We recommend that you call the office as soon as possible after delivery to make this appointment.
Pediatric Inpatient Care
Cincinnati Children’s Hospital is our hospital of choice for ill or injured children. All ESD Pediatricians are Staff Pediatricians at this hospital. Currently our patients are managed by the department of Hospital Medicine while hospitalized. We are in communication with the Hospital Medicine physician throughout their stay and stand ready to resume primary care at discharge.
Labs and Imaging
Our office has a computer interface that connects it to Healthbridge. Healthbridge is the electronic exchange that connects local hospitals, labs and physician practices.
Most of our outpatient lab work and imaging is done through daily office pick up or visits to Cincinnati Children’s lab or radiology facilities. Cincinnati Children’s has facilities at its main campus, satellite locations as well as at its Liberty Campus in West Chester. If your insurance requires your labs to be done at a different facility, please let the office and provider know so that we may accommodate this if possible.
