Nurse Practitioner Lydia Kern grew up on the west side of Cincinnati where she graduated from Colerain High School. She attended The Ohio State University and graduated Magna Cum Laude with Distinction and received a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences with a focus on Health and Wellness. While at Ohio State, Lydia was a four-time varsity scholar athlete in cross country and received national recognition as a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar Athlete for her commitment to academic excellence. She also received the Award of Merit from the School of Allied Medical Professions and The President’s Salute to Undergraduate Academic Achievement. Lydia decided to continue her education and moved to North Carolina where she attended Duke University and completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing with Honors. After graduation, she worked in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Duke Hospital. While continuing to work full-time, Lydia returned to Duke University and completed her Master of Science in Nursing. She is board certified as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in Primary Care through PNCB. Lydia sees patients at both the Milford and Hyde Park offices.
Lydia is a member of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners, Ohio NAPNAP, and Sigma Theta Tau International. She is PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) and BLS (Basic Life Support) certified. Lydia also has completed presentations at the North Carolina NAPNAP Symposium and Denman Undergraduate Research Forum.
Lydia currently lives in the Kenwood area. While not providing patient care, Lydia enjoys spending time with friends and family, running, playing rugby, and being outdoors with her dogs, Ellie and Sophie.
